This stunning volcano is over 20,000 feet above sea level and recognized worldwide as the closest point on Earth to the stars (due to its height and a bulge in the Earth). Many from around the world visit this force of nature to trek to the top by foot as an exciting and rewarding expedition. Tours are offered year-round and provide magnificent views, snow, the gorgeous and protected Vicuna animals, culture, food, and shopping.

Tours may be done on foot by experienced climbers with professional guides and by car for less-experienced hikers. The climate can be cooler in some areas of the park so be sure to dress warmly with layers, sunblock, and sunglasses. It is helpful to stay hydrated and bring items with sugar such as candy to help adjust to the elevation if needed.
